Voter Poll Results
September 22, 2005

After the election to incorporation, I invited citizens to participate in a survey to ascertain what the majority opinions were in relation to incorporation.  Mr. Martin believes the new city government should be representative of the majority interests and not special interests:

Number of Forms Received

134

Number of People Responding
(Includes spouses where both individuals were listed)

221

Some respondents owned more than one type of property so there is no direct coorelation between the number of respondents and the number of properties.  Also, I only applied one for each type of property regardless of whether the respondent was single or a couple.

Primary Home Owner 125
Second Home Owner 9
Residential Lot Owner with no structure 20
Resident leasing a home or condo 1
Developed Commercial Property Owner 4
Undeveloped Commercial Property Owner 3
Business owner leasing space in HSB 3
Not a resident or property owner 2
Average Number of Years Here 11.87

PEOPLE'S OPINIONS:
In this case, when the respondent was a couple, I applied 2 to each opinion and 1 for a single respondent.

Majority opinions are in Blue

To protect Horseshoe Bay from annexation or ETJ encroachment

191 86%
To take advantage of using a sales tax to fund maintenance 118 53%
To prevent Llano County from imposing a hotel tax on HSB 119 54%
To stop Doug Jaffe from developing more high density housing projects 94 43%
To give property owners more of a voice in the future development of HSB 201 91%
To have more control over the operation of the resort 35 16%
To remove the POA from the responsibility for our roads 47 21%
To give us more enforcement capability of our restrictions 147 67%
To consolidate the MUD & POA responsibilities into one entity 83 38%
Other (See Survey Comments)
Only one comment was recorded for each form.

40

Based on these results I have defined what is necessary to satisfy those Majority Goals.
